Rejsby Europæiske Efterskole values knowledge and understanding of Europe in high regard. This also includes knowledge of the EU’s institutions and functions. The importance of the EU is still increasing. Regardless of one’s opinion on the EU as a whole, understanding of European cooperation is necessary to be able to take a qualified position on the subject. Thus, the school aims to develop better understanding of Europe, its people and cultures, as well as giving our students insight into the workings of the European Union.
This is achieved, in part, through teaching of social studies with particular focus on Europe, study trips to other European countries, including school exchanges and discussion of news and foreign affairs on a daily basis. Language teaching is also an integral part of our profile, which in turn helps to promote better understanding of other cultures. As well as compulsory teaching of Danish, English and German or French in the 9th and 10th grades, we also offer English, French and German at a higher level. Furthermore, students can learn Spanish, Italian and French as beginners. The school also offers Danish as a foreign language.
In respect to languages the school is fortunate to have three native speakers employed. In addition to this, we often benefit from language assistents, who support language lessons in their native tongue.
